I purchased the small camp stove from princess auto
The great northern camp stove
I have it installed my my shed to melt the snow of the blower. But when I light it. The shed gets smoked out and I can't stay in there..
Please any input would help
I've replaced the 4 smaller pipes with one long pipe to reach out the roof as the ones provided were too short and to eliminate leakage .. 9'
I've raised the rear legs as high as I was able just to help the smoke roll to the pipe rather than sit flat
I'm just not sure what else to try
I've read maybe insulate the bit of pipe that exposed to the eliments outside to keep the pipe warm but it's only like 3 ft outside..
Will this help?
Why do I get so much smoke in my shed from the wood stove?

There are many things involved and a person can only guess at them. I once had a stove that leaked so badly the smoke would go out the leaks rather than up the flue. If the wood doesn't burn cleanly, that will make smoke. If there is not enough air flow, the fire will not be hot enough to go up the chimney. If the chimney is uninsulated metal pipe, that reduces the draw. Maybe the wood is wet. All you can do is guess and check.

Anybody who even thinks about wood heat needs to read the book by Vrest Orton: www.amazon.com/Forgotten-Art-Building-Good-Fireplace/dp/0911469176/ref=sr_1_1
It explains in simple words why a good fireplace is tall, and why long low fireboxes are inherently poor burners.
