Marriage can be likened to a journey, an odyssey that presents many surprises—some exquisite, others painful. To make this journey happy and successful, it helps if both parties have similar beliefs and goals. The Bible instructs Christians to "marry only in the Lord" - 1 Cor 7 v 39. In doing this they bring joy to God who instituted the marriage arrangement in the Garden of Eden.
