Why did Twitter got it's name?

It was the idea of a small group of birds being in communication with each other and twittering, hence the logo is a bird. Originally, it was supposed to be a service that was text message based via mobile phones as opposed to on the web. Because of the five digit shortcodes, it was going to be called twttr.
