Why did Germany want an Empire in the WW1?

Germany wanted a empire because they wanted the world to only have one leader, one ideology. It is hard knowing why Germany wanted this, and there are different thoughts and meanings. Some say they wanted a new world order which states back to the conspiracy "the Illuminati". Some say they wanted the world to be united as one literary. They wanted the whole world to speak the same language, to have to same ideology, the same culture and so on... This might seem great because the world would no longer be in war, and you could speak to everyone and understand everyone. But, however people would fight to make their "ideology" the ideology the while world should follow or their language, culture etc. The one the world should have.
