this is the essay question of world history class.　This semester is my first history class in my life. I'm totally bad to history... Would you guys give me some explanation and exaplme?

Im Dutch, and in history our country did this a lot. We actally ruled in parts of America, asia and africa. In history we did this for for power and money. This was good for our nation (but really bad for the lands we ruled) because our country is small and cold, and the lands we can take in asia and america were bigger and better in climate. So we farmed o lot of exotic food and ship it back. And it was easy to take because we had weapons and powers, this made the native-populations really scared. This made it a lot easier to take the lands out of the native's hands and made them work for as (as slaves to).
This was a bad part of our history. But i hope i helped you awnser your question.
