I have a bottle of 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil that I use on my body for acne and other blemishes. It works on them and I have acne on my face that I want to treat with the oil but on the side of the bottle it says "DO NOT use full strength on face" and I was wondering why. Is it because of the pungent smell of the oil? Does it have to be diluted, if so how do I do that? I really want to see if using it on my face will help reduce the bumps and redness on my face.

"Dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with 20 to 40 drops of witch hazel, and apply to the skin once or twice a day with a cotton swab. Be careful to not overuse it: while gentler than benzoyl peroxide, tea tree oil can dry out your skin, triggering your body to overproduce its own oils and make your acne worse."
Thank you
