I understand world records can be set anywhere anytime, but surely if it is broken at the olympics it must be an olympic time as well. 1 race 400m showed a new world record of 43.03 with an olympic record of 43.19. Why is it not classed as a new olympic record as well.
Why are world records set at the olympics not classed as olympic records as well?
