My neighbors Meko (15) and Kira (17), Finnish females of Japanese descent, moved from Finland to California because they thought Finland was becoming too British. To break the "stereotypes" in their own way, they decided to learn French. I don't know why they chose to learn French, but they are at least level 2 by now. The only words they know in English are hello, yes, no, and okay. They both look, physically and mentally, like they aren't interested in learning English, but seem really immersed in French. They are looking to learn Spanish next.

Both girls do not want to move to France or Canada, yet they protest against the use of English in everyday life in Finland. To quote Meko: "It is not needed! If you want to learn, go to the United States or United Kingdom! Do not make Finland the next Britain!" Why would they tell finland to stop using English, if the girls themselves are speaking French in California? Please help me and my neighbors figure this out. i am not a troll or a psychopath, and yes, these two humans do exist.
