Most people are non vegetarian as they prefer eating meat and vegetables and not just vegetables or they might just love meat and hate vegetables.
People have incisor teeth. Any animal with incisor teeth must eat meat at least occasionally.
For some, it's religious: the bible says "Rise, kill and eat!" If that was good enough for King James, it's good enough for me.
Because being vegetarian is stupid. Unless you physically cannot process meat, there's no reason you shouldn't eat it.
