I understand that mopeds and scooters are motor vehicles but why for? Where I live you don't need to be registered, have insurance or even wear a helmet, but you need a license. I'm not trying to be annoying or rant etc. I'm just curious why you need a license. It's not unlike riding a very fast bicycle in my experience.

It can go over 35 MPH, which can be VERY dangerous if you get hit or into a wreck. It is for YOUR'S and OTHERS' safety that they do this. People want to make sure you or who ever wishes to have a scooter or moped is ready and qualified to drive it so no one can get hurt. Or; at least, lower the chances of it.

thanks for your input. I do agree with it. What about 10mph or 15mph it's not must faster than a cheap bicycle, and you could use the bike paths (maybe).
