I love science, yet I have a B average currently (high school). I feel like I already know the subject that is being taught, but the teacher ignores that and focuses more on my writing (english being my weakest subject). Why is it that my grade is being influenced so much by my writing, rather than me actually knowing what is being taught. Is that unique to my own teacher? I know I can improve my english ... and that would help my grade a lot, but I feel dissatisfied that my teacher is taking off so many points on tests for not having that great of a sentence structure (wordy, grammatical, etc.).

true the teacher probably figures that you know what your capable doing and you can prosper teacher feels this and is trying to work with you on the things you know to make them better actually its the better way of showing you to learn more and really advance your skills english is a major course we need to graduate so this is learning the teacher is focused on so ride the wind and you'll beable to learn everything you need to go further in your classes and help you work on the most important stuff
The problem is that Science is a subject that demands great precision. Generally speaking, English is capable of being precise. If you cannot formulate your thoughts clearly, you cannot deal with software and working with software is usually necessary in scientific work. Discussing with colleagues also requires it. International sicence papers are published in English.
Thus your teacher is trying to push you in the required direction. Instead of complaining, do the required work to make the impovements needed. It would probably help you to study the subject of Logic, as that is a help in formulating things precisely.
