I am a 5 Foot 7 Inch 22 year old male. 12 months ago I was 180 pounds. Now I am 140 pounds. I participate in martial arts 2-3 times a week for 1 hour at a time. I do not exercise often, and I eat quite a bit. My diet is a high protien, moderate fat, moderate carb diet. I burn fat very quickly regardless of my exercise habits. I build lean, firm and cut muscle. However I am trying to gain muscle mass and muscle weight. I'm hesitant to exercise more as I'm afraid of burning calories too quickly. My labs indicate no thyriod or horomone imbalances. I am a still type 2 Diabetic even with an A1C of 5.4 because I am still on Metformin. I feel like my energy is always on maximum. I limit myself to 2 cans of diet soda a day so caffine is not a direct cause. My bottom line is how do I increase my muscle mass and muscle weight without burning too many calories? What changes should I make, and what changes should I avoid?
