Why am I lagging ? how can I know if there is any programme using Internet to update automatically?

greetings,
yesterday i got my msi gt80, and started playing League of Legends but my ping kept lagging so badly ( ping going back and forth from 180 to 500 ), so i shut it down and opened my old computer,  started playing and i didnt lag at all, so i went back to my msi and i lagged again .

You don't say what operating system you use, or anything about installed programs, or anything about equipment in the two computers, so it's very hard to say anything with certainty.

Is it your internet, because ping can is more of a internet problem. If your using wifi try getting wired because it's better.
