Like my first paycheck was taxed at the rate of 8.55% and the second one was taxed at the rate of 19.67%. I thought all my paychecks are taxed at the same rate.
Why all of my paychecks are not taxed at the same rate? Im from California, USA?

An employer can only 'tax' at the state's set percentage rate....NOT more.
On your pay stub; look for the hours you worked and the rater (per hour),
multiply them, get an answer and then multiply that answer by 8.55%....if
your employer did NOT get the same answer - then COMPLAIN.
So you are trying to say that my paycheck should be taxed at a rate of 8.55 %, but my question was that is it ok that my employer is taxing my paycheck at different rate every single time or is it supposed tobr the same percentage like 8.55 % on every paycheck? Thanks
