If you are asking what the reason is for someone (usually female) to press a flower it's usually romantic nostalgia. She goes to a prom with a guy and he gives her a corsage. She presses a flower from it in remembrance of a romantic date either the guy and/or the evening was very special to her and she wants to see the flower and have it bring back the memory of romance.
