I'm searching for the man who was the ambassador of France in America during the first world war. I just need the name, but age (in 1919) and the background story would be great.
In a roleplay at school I am this person and I need to know my name.
thank you

I have cut & pasted this from "france.usembassy.gov/ww1centenary/ambassadorsharp.html"
"William Graves Sharp (1859-1922) served as United States Ambassador to France from 1914-1919 for the greater part of World War I. Though his nation remained neutral until 1917, Sharp was an ardent proponent of the Allied cause and had the constant approval of President Wilson. He concerned himself greatly with maintaining smooth and positive relations between the French government and his own, conducting relief work, and improving the conditions in prison camps. With characteristic modesty, Sharp exhibited unfailingly good judgment in predicting the course of the war and the needs of the people.
Born in Ohio and having obtained a degree and practiced law in the state, Sharp spent most of his life in the Midwest before becoming a member of the House of Representatives in 1909 and Ambassador in 1915.
He arrived in France in September 1914 just before the Battle of the Marne, endeavoring to closely follow the events of the war and develop a thorough understanding of the French people and territory.
Sharp closely monitored the creation of the American Relief Clearing House and the state of nearly 100 prison camps during his first years, dealing with the difficult situation of being pledged to neutrality while also looking after the Central Powers’ interests entrusted to American care."
Hope this helps
