i have a male betta fish. He is in a 10 gallon tank, has a filter, and a heater. Lately he has been inactive and there is a white sack under him. He lays on his side at the bottom of tank and won't eat ( at least I haven't seen him eating). I'm worried about him. Thx in advance.

he may have caught some type of bacterium in the tank its self it also sounds like he is got something going on thats fugal and he can't survive this if he is laying on his side not eatiing the tank might have something in it that causing your fish to do the things your talking about normally a habitate for a betta is small like a gold fish bowl thats what they normally put bettas in a fish bowl you might want to down size to a goldfish bowl if you get another one you can call a petco or a mall pet store and see what they have to say
