This past week I purchased new luggage. I opened the box, brought the checked luggage out and left it standing up for half the day. Later that night, I laid it on the floor to understand the TSA lock and brought the carry on piece out.
Once the carry-on was out, I closed the checked luggage back up and noticed a one dollar amount of white powder on the front of the suitcase.
The powder was enough to brush away and still have remnants so I know it couldn't have been there earlier.
My worst fear is anthrax but the last case was in 2001 so Id like to highly doubt that. Is this enough reason to schedule a doctors visit or does anyone know what this could be?

If it was anthrax, you'd be in serious respiratory distress by now, or dead.
It could be cocaine or another powdered drug residue. Use a small vacuum to get the rest of the remnants.
Fyi, just because the last case of anthrax was in 2001, doesn't mean it doesn't still happen.
