I'm looking for a program can I use to open my Job Resume with, Notepad does not work for me as it gives me a lot of strange symbols and a bunch of them in between a couple words from my resume. I'd like to be able to get something free as Microsoft Word is more expensive and cannot afford.

Get a friend who knows how to do whatever you are trying to do. There are plenty of free word processors and text editors, and most of them don't need any experience to use, so I can't guess what your problem is. I use notepad-plus-plus.org/ and sometimes www.openoffice.org/
