i am new to comic book reading. i've read some of my friend's and now i'm hooked! but i don't know where to begin. i only want to read dc comics at the moment, but i dont know which ones to read first, please give me details on the ones to start off with like green arrow, justice league, teen titains, flash, batman, green lantern etc. is there a website that gives a guide of the best order to read them in? i'd prefer to read them in volumes rather than actually few paged comics, but any information is any help! also any recommendations of good teams or super heros? thanks guys :)

I had the same issue last year or so when I introduced myself to Marvel comics. I came to discover that many of the story lines cross in many different ways, what I ended up finding that helped me were the Marvel Essentials series ( Essential X-men Vol. 1,2...) which are compiled, reprints of the original comics. My best source fore these were actually amazon.com.
pro:About 15 - 20 comics per book, for less than $20
con: All black and white, which wasn't much of an issue for me seeing as I was wanting the story line, but I did end up buying the smaller sets (about 6-10 comics) cause they were full color and the art was superb.
Now my Favorite purchase was....can't remember the name, but it was the first 40 Iron Man comics in full color, which retailed for about $100, but you can always find discounts.
All in all it has turned into a pretty expensive habit, especially where I am a fast reader, but IMHO it is totally worth it.
Sorry I didn't answer your question, but I'm sure if you google it or check out bn.com or amazon.com you can find he comics that are right for you.
Happy Hunting!
