Hey thanks for both replies jewels. I use to play around with the old 27MHz sideband cb when I was a teenager, bought a bit of gear back then had a Washington base station set power mic and a 30' mast complete with a rotator and a 3 element yagi with a base station 18' foot i think full wave vertical. But as I've grown I left that behind me so to speak but I find myself in a position where I can't seem to get a decent mobile broadband connection for the fact that I I'm in a bit of a hollow and surrounding gumtrees. So far I have purchased a colonial omni whip put in up on the roof with a 5m mast that gave me a little bit then I built a cantenna on a reused satellite dish that worked OK as well so both of them plugged into the pocket modem has got me about half way to a full signal to carry the data but I'm at the point where I have sort of run out of new ideas. I was just going to buy a bi-directional linear amplifier but I've since been told that here in Australia their illegal to use with the mobile broadband spectrum something to do with mucking up the towers systems. So now I'm trying to make up 30db to get the signal at a good enough strength for download speed. So that's what I'm up to here and thanks for the advice jewels. I might hit you up again in the near future to pick at your brain again.. CHEERS.
