Which Laptop is better to buy?

Details:

I'm having difficulty on deciding which laptop I should buy. It's either the Asus Asus X501U (15.6 inches, 4GB RAM, 320 GB Hard drive capacity with Windows 8 and Intel Celeron dual core 1000M processor.) and the Toshiba C50 (15.6 inches, 4 GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Windows 8 and AMD E-series processor). They are both the same price.

I'm only going to use the laptop for study use (a lot of studying since I'm in college now) and some photo editing every now and then.
Please help me decide which laptop is better to buy quality wise so that I don't have to keep going to replace the laptop for a new one every year.

when looking at laptops the first thing I usually worry about is screen size. I like the full size 17 inch screens, they don't make your eyes concentrate too hard versus the smaller screens, especially when you're staying up late studying.
Duo Core processors are always better, that feature will allow you to do your homework and listen to music or Netflix without a hitch. I've also seen a lot of people complain about windows 8, claims that it's just more corporate spyware than anything else, So I would rather buy an older windows 7 type, plus those ones are cheaper.

But if I had to choose between the Ausus and the Toshiba your looking at, I'd rather go with the Ausus X501U. A side by side comparison of their processors show that Ausus's Duo Core Intel Celeron 1000M is a better performing processor than your Toshiba's AMD E-series. I'd pick the AUSUS X501U.
