Which came first the chicken or the egg?

That is hard question to answer. Some may say, "Look in the bible. It says the chicken came first." Technically it doesn't mention what was made first. One could say the chicken came first, but some may say the egg was made first, and then God made the chicken to take care of the egg. The egg may already have had the chicken growing inside, but the already physically grown chicken also had to be created in order to nurture the fetus, not yet fully formed chicken lifeform.
Chapter and verse please. My bible does not say any such thing.
Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Please take the trouble to check your sources to be sure you quote them correctly. Avoid making up your own quotes and misattributing them.
