My family is moving to South Carolina from Michigan in the summer of 2015. We plan on making several trips to SC to check out different areas between now and then. I have seen from doing research online that Lexington might be a good town to move to. Can someone from the area give me their opinion on this? We have 2 elementary aged children, so good schools are vital. We do not want to live in an area with houses on top of each other (subdivision is okay as long as there are trees separating the houses & trees in the back yard). Some traffic is okay but not crazy traffic jam stuff every day. Our annual income is about $70,000 a year. My husband travels all over the county for his job so commuting anywhere isn't really an issue, but if I decide to work when we get there, I work as a Registered Medical Assistant (so Dr offices, hospitals). If Lexington isn't a great place in your opinion, which area would you suggest? Thanks in advance!!

based on the following criteria (1) median household income (adjusted for cost of living); (2) educational attainment (% of residents 25 years and over who have earned a bachelor's degree or higher); and (3) property crime rates per 1,000 residents (burglary and automobile thefts), the best place in South Carolina is Charleston and its suburbs.
