I am a graduate student who needs people who are are planning to acquire a dog to participate in a study before and after they adopt their dog. Any ideas where I can find people who are planning to adopt a dog?

Why not approach dog shelters, rescue centres, and pet shops in your area to see if you can put up a poster advertising your study (or, better still, get the employees to ask potential dog owners if they'd like to participate). In return, you could include their establishments as acknowledgements in the foreword of your write-up and offer them a copy of the study for their own interest.
