When mixing oil paint with cold wax does that help speed the drying process of the paint? I want to?

... use a really thick ammount and I mean a very thick ammount like if I wanted to make a ball out of paint and let it dry on the canvas but oil paint. How could I do that? I saw an artist creat something very similar and said they used cold wax and oil paint on cradled birch panel. Please help!!
