when I turn my ps3 slim on or off my touch lamp which is plugged in on the other side of the room at the same time turns on or off if its already on!! its starting to creep me out a tad... what is the cause of this issue????
When I power on/off my ps3 it makes my touch lamp power off/on???

This has something to do with the wiring. Sometimes a gas furnace can cause the lights flicker on/off when it turns on. Other times a vacuum can cause this to happen as well. I'm no electrician, but this does happen and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
If you are still uneasy, you can call a local, licensed residential electrician, also called "house electricians" and tell him/her about your concerns. Those are the best people to talk to.
