When a body gain energy what happens to its temperature?

Temperature reflects only the kinetic energy portion of the internal energy, so a substance with a greater fraction of its internal energy in the form of potential energy will have a greater internal energy at a given temperature.
Hope this helps.

Energy is not a physical unit. It is a philosophical concept and an accounting technique used to analyze mechanical and chemical exchanges. In nuclear physics it is defined as a color of light, in biology it is a synonym for metabolism, and in public utilities they say energy when they mean connectivity.

When a body gains energy, that might mean a transfer of heat, increase of motion (many kinds of motion), raised position, or change of state. Some things absorb energy when they dissolve, some things absorb energy when they evaporate, some things absorb energy to make a chemical change called "cooking". So there is no single answer to your question.
