What's the word for the period between getting a job offer and the start date?

To my knowledge there is no specific word for it. In all my working career, I have never heard it called anything. The time period between being hired and accepted as fully permanent is probation or probationary period which can be 1 month to 12 months. Prior to start date has no name that I am aware of.
