1)if i had met you before .i would have made you happy
2)if i met you before i would make you happy.
i mean are the meaning of both of these sentenses same .. if not then what's the difference..i am not talkin about tenses i am talkin about meaning what's the difference between meaning of both of these sentenses.. i am not a native speakers so i need help

the first sentence doesn't make alot of sense it should read if i would have had the chance to know you before i would have made you happy this sounds alot more senseable and the second sentence past tense they sound the same but aren't if i meant you years ago i would have made you happy this is what the second sentence should sound like
