What's the difference between tool and equipment?

The difference is that equipment is a material which you can use can use to equip yourself for a task. For example, you need a knife to cut fruits and a a fork and spoon to do your breakfast for lunch or supper or dinner (whatever it is). You can also see that in daily life, we use equipment to "equip" or keep ourselves geared in carpenter work, fixing machines, doing different tasks etc. And as for tools, tools are materials which can be used to do a special task. For example, we use a spanner to tighten bolts and car lug nuts, screwdriver for tightening screws and using different electrical 'power tools' to do advanced tasks. Tools are specially used for electrical work, wood work, constructing and in machinery. Tools are generally hand held, easy using and common items.
