What would my school do if I said I had to go abroad and go to my sick grandma for 3-6 months?

They might transfer your records to a school near grandmas school so you can still be in school if you wanted to do that.

if you are university student , maybe you can apply for Gap year . But I am not sure of the process and if you are qualified to apply .
