What would happen if humans were unable to detect any electromagnetic radiation? How would that change our lives and what alternatives might evolve to provide information about distant objects?

Well, the biggest change we'd have would be blindness, since visible light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. The most obvious adaptions to such a situation would probably be an increasing sensitivity in the other senses, such as smell and sound, and a revised culture not so dependent on sight.
