I think I've evolved out of playing video games. Even ones I like I don't want to play anymore. I'm looking for something to fill that void on my days off when I can't go outside that //isn't work// (reading fiction is Work!). Yes I like Netflix, but one movie and I'm done - that's not something to "look forward to" either, it's just what I do on weekdays already. I've actually tried to use Netflix and books to learn another language, but I want something else to do. I've got 1-3 days off every week.

I took a hobby and self taught myself to paint. Water color paint set is very cheap. So is a very large sketch pad.
Others expound the idea on youtube. I chose to modify my talent. Make some simple start with no idea in mind. Then turn the sketch pad one quarter turn and begin again. Soon as you move around the four sides you will find a subject has presented itself.
Really good acrylics are a later experience which I hold to the side. I have shown them off to the passersby and some have even taken pictures from cell phones.
One simple idea. .
