Since before summer of 2014, I have dealt with severe insomnia. For about six months I first took Restoril (temazepam) which was relatively effective until I developed an unavoidable tolerance to it. Since, I've tried everything from tricyclic antidepressants to benzodiazepines to barbiturates: Halcion (triazolam), Xanax (alprazolam), Valium (diazepam), Klonopin (clonazepam), Ativan (lorazepam), Ambien (zolpidem), Lunesta (eszopiclone), Sonata (zaleplon), Tofranil (imipramine), and trazodone. I am unable both go to sleep and stay asleep. I will lay in my bed for hours until the sun has risen, without sleep. I've looked into Seroquel (quetiapine) for sleep as well as ProSom (estazolam). Anyone know anything about these meds? Is there anything else that could possibly work?
What sleeping medication will actually be effective for me?
