honestly I have no idea but I do know what I would do.. measure the required bolt, width, depth and thickness and then head down to home depot with 30 dollars in my pocket and buy two of a variety of suitable bolts in a range of the approximate sizes.
Fussing over a specific bolt on a 17 yr old bike is daft (unless you are looking to rebuild to specs) so long as you ca find one that does the job safely it's all good. Hell, if it's just a case of fixing the seat to the frame with no intention of resale then weld that mother on :)
I'm glad you managed to sort it out, kudos to you :)
I'm in UK now so no Home Depo or I would have gone there. The local equivant shop suck. 6mm to small, 8mm too big, 7mm......too big. I ended up drilling out the old nut plates and using JB weld (aluminum frame seemed too thin for arc weld) created a new nut plate out of a nut, and used the 7mm bolts I bought at a performance shop. works awesome. Thanks for the advice tho.
