We work in a pub and are debating what side the cutlery goes? left or right?

I'm almost positive it would be how you eat with your utensils. Knife and spoon on the right, fork on the left. I'm not an expert in kitchen utensils, but this is how I was taught in home economics many a-year ago.
Reasoning is that most people are right-handed. Spoons, since no other utensil is utilized when using a spoon, is used by the right hand. Knives and forks are usually used in conjunction with one another and knives always go in your dominant hand as your nondominant hand is simply holding what needs to be cut steady.
