I am a college student trying to find what kinds of careers are out there for me when I graduate. I haven’t declared a major yet and could do anything really. I am very interested in psychology, politics, and public policy. I was thinking maybe some kind of political psychology but I’m not sure. What do you guys think are good careers that I could look into? I know I want to help people and make enough money to support myself and a family but I don’t need a lot.

You will do the same as every other college grad: take whatever job is offered. All those people who told you that you had to have a degree to get a good job were deceived. You can do much better getting a solid wage paying job with no student loans and simply saving half your income. If you earn ten bux an hour and save half, in only ten years you will have a hundred thousand bux. A college grad can't get his net worth up to zero in that time.
Get "Dress For Success" by John Molloy and consider all the advice for students. You can do all those things at a community college while you support yourself with an afternoon job.
Sorry Jewels, meant to Vote Up.
I make as much if not more than a lot of 4-6 yr college grads I know, if they even find a job in their field. I’m sitting pretty comfy with a diploma and not having $40k+ of debt to pay off. Key is to work your ass off and soon you will call the shots. Good luck
Trevieva000 I have lived 12 years on social security, $975 a month, and saved $70,000 which is half my income. It's not how much you get, it's how much you get to keep.

This is why colleges hire career guidance counselors. They can talk to you about careers, majors, and some even have tests to give you to find where your special skills lie and what your interests are. All colleges and universities have them. Make an appt and go talk to yours. Where your future career is, I wouldn't trust answers from a tiny little web site and expect it to provide precise and adequate answers for something this important. Good luck!
Do you realize that 10 dollars per hour is below the national poverty line? I also feel invested in myself to achieve a higher level of education so that’s what I’m going to do. I hate the cynicism around college educations. As if I isn’t socially appreciated to receive a degree. Just because it shouldn’t be doesn’t mean it isn’t so.
