What should I do when I am so depressed?

The first line of defense against depression and anxiety is B vitamins. Get nutritional yeast powder and/or B-100 pills. Vitamin B2 is a water soluble dye that turns urine bright yellow. When the color fades, it's time for another dose. Read some books about nutrition so you know how to eat right.

It will make you feel normal again, so you can deal with your situation in a reasonable manner. You didn't say any reason for your sadness, so that's all the advice I can offer.

Is it normal everyday sadness or is it diagnosed depression? There is a big difference. You dog dies and you are down in the dumps for a month that is grief and is expected and normal and that is sadness that is not depression so you need to figure out which it is.

Your brain cannot focus on two things at a time so keep it busy so it doesnt wallow in a pity puddle. You get your calendar out and you schedule something every single day for a month. One night reconnect with friends choose one and call. One night do your laundry, syrip your bed wash clothes and sheets put tbem all away and make your bed. One night pull everything out of your closet and organize it.

If you belong to a gym go. If not get out and start walking. Walk around the block that's four blocks. Every week add one more block. When you get to 12 blocks, that's when your goal is to do 12 blocks in 15-20
minutes. Thats one mile and you need to get your heart rate up. When you do that it creates chemicals in the brain that counteract mild depression.

Get enough sleep.

Get enough nutritious food.

Those all help sadness and depression.

Who diagnosed you as being depressed? There are a lot of things that make us sad for awhile (a few weeks or even months). Someone dies, it is normal to be sad and cry for weeks or months. That doesn't mean you are depressed. There is a big difference between normal sad and clinically depressed. Self-diagnosis doesnt help.

Usually you can get over being sad by :

Eating a balanced diet 3xday

Sleeping a full 8 hours per night

Get out and socialize and become physically active.

If that doesn't work ask your family dr for a referral to a therapist.

Several years ago I suffered from depression and was treated with medication and counseling by a mental-health professional.

If you suffer from moderate to severe depression, seek the help of profesionals and take reasonable measures to care for your physical and mental health. For instance, eat wholesome meals, get sufficient sleep, and exercise regularly. Exercise releases chemicals that can lift your mood, increase your energy, and improve your sleep. If possible, try to recognize triggers and early warning signs of a depressive mood and create a suitable plan of action. Confide in someone you trust. A supportive network of close family members and friends may help you to cope more effectively with your depression, possibly reducing symptoms. Record your thoughts and feelings in a journal. Doing all these things have helped me overcome depression and to avoid a relapse.

Nonetheless, what has helped me the most is to address my spiritual needs. This has greatly improve my outlook on life. I find comfort in prayer and Bible reading. Talking to God in prayer calms me and the Bible helps me to see that I am valuable in God’s eyes and that he really cares about me.

Bible reading also gives me a positive view of the future. It's comforting to know that the time will come when God will heal us of all our illnesses, physical or mental. “No resident will say: ‘I am sick,’” God promises in Isaiah 33:24.
