I'm going to college in August and I'm a chemistry major with an emphasis on biochemistry. I'm looking for a new laptop but I'm not sure what to get. I've heard Thinkpads are good for sciences and Macs are not. Suggestions??
What laptop would be best?

I wouldn't say that Macs aren't good for science, but it may be that there's more science-type software available for Windows, or more importantly, the software that you'll be needing to use may likely be for Windows and not Mac. I use Toshibas for years, but have been using Thinkpads for the past 6 years, and have been very pleased.
