What kind of grill is better? Charcoal or gas?

Charcoal burns at a certain temperature and the infrared radiation cooks the meat with a distinctive flavor. Some gas fired units incorporate glass blocks to duplicate the infrared radiation. Maybe they work and maybe they don't. You just have to ask somebody which brand of equipment they like.

The cost of charcoal is expensive. The tank for the gas is also expensive. Then the question will be, how often this is used per year.
One tank of propane is almost as cheap as gasoline. The economy speaks for itself. Wood chips are often soaked and added to gas grills. The taste of hickory or cedar or apple is distinctive.
Landlords sometimes forbid barbeques on balconies. Ask your landlord which he allows.
My landlord at one apartment required me to get an electric barbeque.
The next idea is how good is the charcoal or gas residue for your breathing. How much does this improve taste of the product. There is also liquid smoke which is a flavoring on the spice shelves of the stores. Also bbq flavors like kraft.
I know a man who had a barbeque he got cheap for 400 dollars and used this 3 times and was fed up with his. His he got cheap from a 1500 dollar discount.
I have stated some options although there are many more. Let me know if this was helpful or if you have further questions of the subject.
