What is your impression of the difference in milestones in Jonas's society and ours?

Jonah's society was completely secularized and sterilized, with all real emotions suppressed. Secularization is happening more and more, but emotions aren't being eradicated yet. We also see the issues of abortion and infanticide, which are very sad and sick, yet people in society still try to "normalize" it.
