What is uncontrolled cell division?

Uncontrolled cell division happens when you have cancer. The "bad" cell or cells are mutated in some way that they do not respond to normal signals when it comes to the cell life cycle. The cells continually and rapidly divide and multiply and metastasize, meaning they spread to other tissues in the body and cause destruction. Cancerous cells may even evade cellular death, even though your body targets these cells for apoptosis.
