I watched a movie with my dad when I was younger. I can't remember the name of it. It was black and white. It was an old movie, maybe from the late 50's or early 60's. It was foreign. I think French. The plot had something to do with a fire that had happened at an oil-pumping station. There were these 3 groups of guys who were driving trucks carrying tanks of nitroglycerine to help put it out. I remember the ending went along the lines of everyone died on the way except for 1 and he ended up committing suicide afte delivering it to the firefighters by driving off a bridge. It was a pretty depressing film. I think it may have also been based on a book but if it is I couldn't think of the name of the book or author either. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. I remember it being a very good movie and if I can find out the title I would like to add it to my movie collection. I also remember that the movie Sorcerer directed by William Friedkin is supposed to be a remake of this but still don't know the name of the original.

I just watched The Wages of Fear again and it was really good. In fact better than I remember. I was surprised how dark it was for a 1950's movie and I never thought I would hear the F word in a film of the age. I had totally forgot that there was some swearing in it. I think I prefer the Sorcerer film more though. But still, Wages of Fear was a great walk down memory lane.
Thanks. I will look it up. I just watched Sorcerer again last night and I did see that listed in the credits.
