Have a few oscilloscopes. Wanted a function generator to test them out. I only get a signal out of the 50 OHMS output. Not sure what the TTL output or the VCF input is used for.
What is the VCF input on a instek model GFG-8020H function generator used for?

If you don't have a manual, go to google.com and search for "GFG-8020H manual" and download one. You can use the instrument without knowing what the words mean, but it is good to learn them before you need them.
"50 ohms" takes a while to understand, but you can get along just fine without knowing that.
"VCF" stands for "Voltage Controlled Frequency". Just don't use it until you know you need to.
TTL means logic signal 0 to +5 volts for driving logic circuits.
