Can you also find how you got the lateral area too please? Thanks a bunch! :-)

Answer: Since the diameter of the can is 4 inches, the radius must be 2 inches. In addition, d can replace 2r in the expression for the lateral area since 2r is the length of the diameter.
S=L+2B=(pi)dh+2(pi)r²
S=(pi)(4)(5.5)+2(pi)(2)² d=4, r=2, h=5.5
S =22(pi)+8(pi)
S=30(pi)
S≈94.2 in²
The surface area of the can is about 94.2 in². I hope this helped answer your question!!
In fact, you already found the lateral surface area. It was the first part of the equation you used in Step 1:
S=L+2B=2(pi)rh+2(pi)^2
L=2(pi)rh
L=(pi)dh
L=(pi)(4)(5.5)
L=22(pi)
L≈69.1 in^2
