What is the scope of Marterials Engineering?

It has a pretty broad scope, as with most types of engineering.

You'll need to learn a lot about chemistry, as well as internal statics and kinetics, how materials hold up under various stressors, how to run strain tests, things like that.

You'll also need to learn about the processes used to create various building materials, and apply the scientific method to create more efficient processes and/or better finished materials. And, as in all engineering, advanced computer literacy is a huge plus.

If it's any consolation, Materials and Process Engineers usually don't have to apply to jobs. Recently, the jobs have been applying to them.
