Usually the parents set a preferred age for their children dating. Coming from a christian home my parents set the age at 16. Although I don't believe financial status should ever play a role in relationships, the Bible does set standards for dating and marriage. 2 Corinthians 6:14 regarding the reserves of dating non-believers and of course the law to abstain from fornication in the ten commandments. Aside from these two examples, I haven't seen much other topics.
As a christian, the whole point of dating is to find someone to marry. So before you date someone, ask yourself, "Could spend the rest of my life with this guy" and if so, go for it! 23 is definetly an ok age for dating, in fact you should probably start. Childbearing is a limted window and all that!
