If you have a child and you have any income, you must pay child support. You can lose your driver's license and even fail credit/rental checks if you fail to pay child support. You can also lose all visitation and custody rights.
Do you have no income because you are disabled? If so and you file for Social Security Disability, 25% is taken out as child support before you even see the income, so it's not a huge burden. If you're not disabled, are you refusing to work so as not to pay child support? Then you'll simply be poor.
Also, do you know if the child is definitely yours? You can ask the court for a paternity test. If you have no income, the mother may need to pay for the test (or she can get financial aid, or may even get it free, depending on her income). You'd have the security of mind of knowing it is definitely your child.
If it's your child, don't be a deadbeat dad. Also, please use protection to not create more children until you can support them, ok?
