TracFone prices can start at $15. They are pay as you go plans. Once you buy the phone you only have to pay for the minutes you use. Those are the cheapest phones and plans on the market. they're Perfect if the only thing you use your phone for is making phone calls.
Do not go to Consumer Cellular! They lie stating $10.00/mo & then add high charges on it.I made 1 call & got charged 3 months at around $30.Then long after close acct, got a bill for more.Att has a "go"phone where you can add $10.00/month but if not use all before adding more, they take it.so if not need much on it & add before loosing then the leftover is added to your good.there are free phones with free time but need to have food stamps or qualify for Lifeline discount on utilities.I think it's 200free min & text with camera phone.
I recommended TracFone because my mother uses one. It was no more than $15-$20 and she's never been overcharged. You can buy 300 minutes and you won't have to pay for anything extra only the minutes that you use. I don't which plan you were on but my mother hasn't had any of those problems. I think it is called a "pre-paid plan" or something like that. Those minutes will remain for as long as you don't use them. so if you only used ten minutes this month then you will still have 290 minutes left next month.
